Aloe is a website to help people meet others and make new in-person friends. We work with organizations and their member bases to help bring their members together and let people bond with others over similar interests, activities, trip plans, and more. The ultimate goal is to have people meet safely in-person at an event planned by their organization.
How does Aloe work?
- Receive an invitation to join Aloe’s community from your organization.
- Create your account and add the necessary information to your profile for others to get to know who you are. The more you add, the stronger your profile is and the more likely someone will feel comfortable reaching out to you. Remember, be yourself and follow Aloe’s community guidelines. If we find you breaching these guidelines, we reserve the right to delete your account and ban you from Aloe.
- See hubs and join hub conversations to get involved in a community you enjoy or create your own hub to start a new conversation!
- See events occurring in your organization and register.
- Reach out to new people on Aloe who are in your organization, in the general Aloe network, or those who will be going to the event to start building new friendships.
- Want to join new organizations and meet more people? Send the organization on Aloe a request to join their member base. The organization reserves the right to accept or deny your request to join their group.

Safety is one of our core values and we handle it very seriously. See our community guidelines for what is acceptable on the platform and how we expect you to behave. We know the online world can be unsafe and so that’s why we have the organization send out invitations to their member base for them to join Aloe and approve each new member before letting them access the group. We also encourage members to meet each other for the first time at an in-person event planned by their organization and to stay located at that event and not go to other places. If not going through the organization’s event, we strongly recommend users to meet each other in a public setting. In this way, others are around and can step in to help, if needed. Additionally, we also have a paid subscription plan which allows us to keep all of your personal information and data safe and secure on Aloe, instead of needing to sell it to advertisers and third-parties.
Although we try to keep our site secure, we cannot guarantee absolute safety. We strongly recommend not sharing your personal information with anyone until you get to know them better. If you feel unsafe at any time on the site or want to report inappropriate content or behavior, please contact us here to help keep the Aloe community safe.
Go to your Settings and under the Personal Information tab, click on Update under the location category and then click on Update Geolocation to find the most accurate results for where you are located.
Yes, we offer a free, basic plan with limited features available on the site. However, to unlock additional features, one will need to pay for the premium plan on the site. See our plans here. We do a subscription model so we can keep your personal information and data safe and secure on Aloe, instead of needing to sell it to advertisers and third-parties for revenue to keep our company running. In this way, your personal information and data will be kept secure on the site and will not be sold. Your safety is important to us and is one of our core values.
For organizations, Aloe will follow a subscription based plan. To learn more about what this entails, contact us for more information.
Aloe is for organizations and their member bases, for individuals or couples who want to make new in-person friends, get more involved in their organization, know what’s going on in the world around them, and for those who want to have an easy outlet to meet others like them. For organizations, Aloe helps increase member engagement and lifts a heavy workload off of the organization. Learn more here.
Yes! On Aloe, you can search exclusively just for couples and make friends with those who are in your similar stage of life. Add your significant other’s profile on your profile under Account on Settings and then go to the filter feature under the Find Friends tab to filter your friend search for individuals or couples.
By using Aloe, you get to meet other like-minded people like you within your organization so you already share similar life experiences, background and values with others before reaching out to them for platonic friendships. In addition, you also get to see who’s going to events before getting there, letting you know who you want to talk to when you arrive or finding someone to go to the event with you, so you do not show up alone, helping you lower the barriers for starting new friendships. Aloe also uses hub conversations for conversation starters to help ease the tension, see what someone is interested in and get to know others better before meeting them in real life. In addition, Aloe also prioritizes your safety and so by having a subscription service, we will not sell your personal data or information to third-parties or advertisers.
Yes! You can not only join multiple organizations on Aloe, but you can also see all of those organizations’ events on one calendar, all in one place for you to decide what events you would like to go to, see who you would like to meet and what events you would like to register for, all weeks in advance.
Hubs are conversation groups around specific topics to get to know others better and serve as conversation starters. Examples for hub topics can include book or movie recommendations, traveling plans, things to do or go see in a city, restaurant recommendations, places you want to go visit one day and why, and more. Hubs are divided into 2 sections: Adding links to references and having a messaging forum. You can also go further and comment on each link about what you like or don’t like about it, what you would recommend, and more. Join hubs to be part of specific groups or create your own and start your own conversation!
As an organization, create your own hubs to engage your member base in topics you want to explore and engage them in.
Respect all users
We’re a diverse community. This means you should respect other people’s beliefs, interests and property while on Aloe. Aloe takes a strong stance against hate speech, rude or abusive behavior, bullying, and misogyny. You should behave the same way on Aloe as you would in real life. Additionally we encourage all of our users to report anyone who does not follow these behavioral guidelines. As a community rooted in kindness, transparency and respect, we expect all of our users to respect each other, themselves, and the Aloe staff.
Send original messages to other users
We strongly advise against copying and pasting the same message to every connection. We encourage our users to read profiles, learn about other people’s interests, see what they say in their hub conversations and send an appropriate, relevant message to each person on Aloe.
Don’t pretend you’re someone you’re not, be yourself!
Aloe should be like in real life, so the name you use on your profile and the photo you use should be who you are in real life. You should also only have one individual account on Aloe. We don’t allow the creation of duplicate individual accounts by one individual, whether you’re representing yourself or another entity. If you are an admin of one organization, you may be an admin of multiple organizations. All photos must be appropriate on Aloe, no nudity or pornographic material is allowed.
Don’t do anything illegal on our site
Illegal activity will not be tolerated on Aloe. This may result in being banned or restricted from the site, and/or being reported to the authorities.
Aloe is for 18+ years.
If you don’t follow these guidelines, you’ll receive a warning (unless our team decides to block or restrict access without warning at our discretion). If you ignore this warning, you risk losing your account. These guidelines are designed to make Aloe a friendly and safe place for all our users. If you see inappropriate behavior or content on the site, please contact us here to help keep the Aloe community safe.
To make the most out of your experience on the site, we recommend using the latest browser versions of Firefox, Chrome or Safari.
At this stage, Aloe is a website-based service only. In the future, we would be open to building out a mobile app if we receive enough feedback from our users who want this feature available.
